I have 15 years experience in architectural and residential lighting. My journey began in Santa Monica back in 2003. I love the technical and creative aspects of lighting.
Where were you raised?
I was born and raised in Colorado. I grew up in Grand Junction, CO. There are five kids in my family. All of us are adopted. My parents originally planned on 4 kids – two boys and two girls. My parents were getting ready to adopt my biological brother, Tony as their last addition the family. However, my Mom saw my picture or she read about me and decided last minute to take me as well. I’ve lived in NYC and Santa Monica.
What was your most rewarding project and why?
One of my most rewarding projects was a residential house located in Hawaii. There were 10 different ceiling heights, 4 in the kitchen alone. I helped my clients with Tech Lighting Monorail throughout the home. We communicated by phone and emailed pictures only. Usually, you would need to go to the location, but we all worked together to make it happen. The end result was great and there were no hiccups. It was a nice challenge and my goal is to solve problems creatively.
How would you characterize your design style?
I personally love mid century modern design. I enjoy introducing color into a space to liven it up. I believe lighting and furniture should be functional and beautiful.
In your experience working at C.A.I. Designs thus far, what is/are some of your favorite product lines and why?
My favorite product line is Hubbardton Forge because of the craftsmanship and great customer service. Their designs are beautiful and offer something different than any other manufacturer. HF also stands behind their products.
What is your favorite color?
Depends on the situation. I do like pink.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I like to enjoy local cuisine, watch movies, spend time with friends and family and my Shih Tzu-Maltise mix dog, Gizmo.
What is your favorite food?
I love Italian and Japanese food. Love sweets!
Where do you draw your inspiration from? Is there anything you do to get you inspired when you hit a slump?
My inspiration design-wise really comes from my clients. Everyone has their own personality and style. It’s my goal to make sure clients get something functional and aesthetically pleasing to their decor.
